Quick install

npm install -g bakeacookie

The package is published as bakeacookie (the shorter names were already taken), but the command you run is just:

bash

bake --help

Verify installation

bash

bake --version
bake doctor

bake doctor runs a full environment health check — Node.js, git, WSL (on Windows), wallet, cluster, balance, and project detection.

Windows users

bake needs a Solana/Anchor toolchain available via WSL for build/deploy commands. Native Windows toolchain does not work — Anchor/Solana CLI binaries are Linux-only.

bake auto-detects Windows and transparently relays commands through WSL. After install, run:

bash

bake doctor

This will check your WSL setup and report any issues. See Windows & WSL Setup for detailed instructions.

Not every command needs the full toolchain:
