Diff & Decode

Source diff

bash
bake diff <entry>

Shows what's changed (source code) since a given Recipe Book entry.

With bytecode diff

bash
bake diff <entry> --rebuild

Rebuilds the binary from the historical commit and compares bytecode. This shows both source and binary differences.

Decode transactions

bash
bake decode <transactionSignature>

Decodes a transaction using the program's IDL.

Decode accounts

bash
bake decode --account <accountAddress>

Decodes an account's data using the program's IDL.

Decode logs

bash
bake decode --log <logLine>

Decodes an Anchor event log line.

IDL resolution

bake automatically resolves the IDL from:

  1. The current project's target/idl/ directory
  2. The built-in IDL registry

For ad-hoc decoding:

bash
bake decode <sig> --idl /path/to/program.json
